Brush Fire in North Coventry
Ridge Fire Company , March 22
At approximately 4pm Station 62 was called along with other assisting units to assist Station 64 (Norco) with a large brush fire on the 1400 block of St Peter’s Road. Brush 62, ATV 62 , Utility 62-1 , Engine 62-2 , and Engine 62-5 made the response. Units assisted in the scene for about two hours with fire suppression and overhaul. Large Brush Fire in South Coventry

Just before 2:30pm , Station 62 was dispatched to the 2400 block of Pottstown Pike (Route 100) for a brush fire reported to be approximately one acre in size and rapidly spreading towards a barn. Assistant 62 arrived and confirmed the report. Brush 62 and Engine 62-2 arrived and began to extinguish the fast moving fire. ATV 62 arrived and also assisted with fire suppression. Saturday Afternoon Keeps Crews Busy

Just before 11:30am, Station 62 was dispatched to the 300 block of Lucas Road for a brush fire. Chief 62 arrived with a field on fire and rapidly spreading due to high wind conditions. Brush 62 and Engine 62-2 quickly arrived and began extinguishing the fire. Traffic 62 shut down Lucas Road and detoured traffic. Tuesday Night Training
Ridge Fire Company , February 25
This past evening Craig Hall and Dan Mitchell of Penn Tactical Solutions held a “Stop the Bleed” class. This class taught members the basics of identifying and treating life-threatening bleeding using tourniquets, wound packing and pressure dressings. These skills can be utilized to stop severe bleeding before EMS arrives. Members learned how to apply tourniquets on others and even on themselves. ... (Full Story & Photos)

Busy Afternoon for Ridge Volunteers

Just before 2pm Station 62 was dispatched to Route 23 and Mount Pleasant Road for an accident with entrapment. Crews quickly arrived to find no entrapment. Crews on scene provided traffic control and removed debris. While enroute back to the station , Chief 62 was traveling on the 1900 block of Ridge Road and located a single vehicle into a pole. High Winds Keep Station 62 Busy

This past afternoon a strong storm moved through the area causing sustained high winds causing trees as well as power lines to come down throughout our response area. Throughout the storm our firefighters and fire police responded to 15 emergencies which ranged from pole fires, building fires, trees blocking the roadway , and several accidents. EMS Overview Drill

This evening Chief Yerger of Goodwill EMS brought MICU 329-8 to Station 62 and gave members an in depth overview of the equipment carried and showed newer members how to use it. Chief Yerger also gave members an idea of what is expected of fire company members when assisting EMS crews on scene. This is an annual drill we hold and was very informative to all that attended. Just before 8pm, Station 62 and MICU 84-2 (Goodwill EMS) were dispatched to the area of 724 and Fricks Lock Road for an accident with injuries. Deputy 62 arrived to find a two vehicle accident involving a sedan and a utility truck. MICU 84-2 arrived and evaluated the patient while Traffic 62 shut traffic down at 724/Sanatoga Road.
