At 6:45pm on Tuesday, January 31st Chester County Communications alerted Station 62 (Ridge), Ladder 51 (Limerick FD) and MICU 84-1 (GoodWill EMS) for a Chimney Fire on Grubb Rd by Ebelhare Rd in East Coventry Twp. Engine 62-1 and Engine 62-2 made the response moments after dispatch and were advised callers had reported flames from the top of the chimney. Deputy 62 arrived on Engine 62-1 and established Grubb Rd Command and confirmed a working chimney fire with fire on the exterior of the chimney. Engine 62-5 made the response for water supply and additional manpower. Crews knocked the fire down from the ground and laddered the roof to begin opening up the chimney. Ladder 51 arrived and supplied additional ground ladders to access the chimney and manpower. Crews worked together from the roof and side of the chimney to remove the siding and check for extension. The fire had been held to the top of the chimney. Command made all units available by 8:13hrs.
