This morning Ridge Fire Co was invited to Bethel United Methodist Church for their 1030 service to recognize our volunteer members and honor the work and sacrifices made 21 years ago on September 11th 2001. The members were honored be invited and attend this morning service.
Shortly after the recognition section of this morning’s service, Chester County Communications alerted Ridge Fire Co at 11:03hrs for a Vehicle Fire at the intersection of Bethel Church Rd and Stony Run Road, right down the road from the church, in East Coventry Twp. Chief 62 responded and was advised of reports of dark smoke coming from the engine compartment of an SUV that was stopped in the intersection with everyone out of the vehicle. Engine 62-1, Engine 62-2, and Utility 62 responded promptly from the church. Deputy 62 arrived on scene followed by the 62 apparatus to find a potentially overheated SUV in the intersection. Crews evaluated the engine compartment and moved the SUV out of the intersection to free up the road and await a tow. All 62 cleared the scene available at 11:16hrs.
On this 21st Anniversary we want to pay honor to all those that lost their lives or continue to suffer from illness and loss due to the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001. We all made a pledge to Never Forget those that gave it all and the events of that day in New York City, Washington, DC, and Somerset County, PA.
