Just before 6pm, Station 61 (Kimberton) was dispatched to the 800 Block of Spring City Road in East Pikeland for a vehicle fire inside the garage. Chester County Emergency Services received an updated call stating that the fire was no longer contained and was extending inside of the garage prompting a building fire response which added Station 63(Liberty Fire Company), Engine 62-1, Station 68 (Valley Forge), Montgomery County Engine 98 (Royersford), and Medic 325 (Friendship of Royersford) to the response. As Engine 62-1 was responding, other responding units advised they could see a large column of smoke from a distance, and a first alarm Tanker Task Force was requested bringing in Engine 62-5 along with several other tankers. Upon arrival crews from Station 62 established a water supply to the first in engine company while Engine 62-5 supplied 62-1. The fire was quickly brought under control and the company returned to the station within the hour.
