Just before 5pm , as a strong line of thunderstorms was moving through the area , Station 62 along with MICU 84-2 were dispatched to the unit block of Savage Road for a residential rescue. As units began responding , units were advised that it was reported to be a tree into the house with the residents still inside. Assistant 62 arrived on the scene and confirmed the report and also advised incoming crews that live wires were down as well. Engine 62-2 arrived followed by Rescue 62 and crews assisted with evacuating the residents. MICU 84-2 evaluated the occupants of the home. Engine 62-1 arrived and assisted. Crews awaited the response of PECO crews and returned to the station after operating for about 90 minutes. Crews also responded to the unit block of Carriage Lane for a carbon monoxide alarm which was determined to be a malfunctioning alarm.
