Just before 2:30pm , Station 62 was dispatched to the 2400 block of Pottstown Pike (Route 100) for a brush fire reported to be approximately one acre in size and rapidly spreading towards a barn. Assistant 62 arrived and confirmed the report. Brush 62 and Engine 62-2 arrived and began to extinguish the fast moving fire. ATV 62 arrived and also assisted with fire suppression. Due to windy conditions fanning the flames , Assistant 62 requested additional units ranging from Brush Trucks ,ATVs, and Tankers from Ludwigs Corner, Norco, Kimberton, and Twin Valley Fire Dept. Traffic 62 and 62 Fire Police detoured traffic around the scene. Crews extinguished the fire which grew to just over 4 acres about an hour after dispatch, but remained on scene for approximately two hours conducting extensive overhaul before returning to the station.
