Just before 6pm, Station 62 along with MICU 84-2 (Goodwill EMS) were dispatched to the area of Route 100 and Pughtown Road for an accident with injuries. Rescue 62 along with Assistant 62 arrived to find a single vehicle accident with one patient confined. The crew of Rescue 62 stabilized the vehicle and utilized hydraulic tools to remove the door and assist EMS with removing the patient. The patient was quickly extricated and transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment. Crews from Engine 62-1 and Rescue 62 removed debris and controlled hazards on the highway while fire police directed traffic through the accident scene. Crews were back in station before 7pm.
