Just after 3PM, Station 62 along with MICU 84-2 (Goodwill) was dispatched to Route 100 and Cadmus Road for an auto accident with a possible vehicle fire. Chief 62 arrived on location with a single vehicle rollover accident. The vehicle was initially on fire but thanks to the quick action of a witness, it was extinguished utilizing a fire extinguisher. MICU 84-2 evaluated the vehicle occupant. Rescue 62 arrived and assisted with controlling hazards and ensuring the fire was fully extinguished. Crews were in service for about 30 minutes.
About 15 minutes after crews returned to the station, the call came in for an accident with injuries at Porters Mill Road and Schoolhouse Road. Battalion 62 arrived on scene and reported a two vehicle accident. MICU 329-6 (Goodwill) arrived and evaluated vehicle occupants and transported one to a local hospital for treatment. Engine 62-2 made the response and assisted with hazard control and clearing the roadway of debris. 62 Fire Police detoured traffic in the area to ensure crews were able to safely operate on the scene. Utility 62-1 arrived and assisted with traffic control. Crews were in service for about an hour.
