Door Pop on Route 100

Just before 10pm Station 62, Medic 329-9 (Good Will) , and MICU 83-4 (Friendship EMS) were dispatched to the area of Route 100 and Pughtown Road for an auto accident which was upgraded to an accident wit entrapment. Assistant 62 arrived to find a two vehicle accident with a patient confined in one vehicle. Rescue 62 arrived and went to work utilizing hydraulic tools to open and remove the driver’s side door freeing the occupant. EMS evaluated the occupants on scene and transported patients to an area hospital. Engine 62-1 assisted Rescue 62’s crew and also cleared the highway of debris. 62 Fire Police shut down route 100 to allow crews to operate safely while on the scene. Crews were in service for about an hour before returning back to the station.
