Just before 10:30AM , Station 62 was called to the 600 block of Ridge Road for a vehicle fire reported to be a pickup truck. Chief 62 arrived to find a fire in the bed of the pickup truck. A neighbor had used a garden hose to attempt to control the fire. Engine 62-2 arrived and stretched a booster line to fully extinguish the fire. Engine 62-1 also made the response. The driver of the pickup truck kindly donated 21 gallons of ice cream that was salvaged from the pickup truck which was quickly placed in the firehouse freezer, which we are very thankful for ! Station 62 operated for about thirty minutes.
