Charitable Donations
While we would love you to donate exclusively to Ridge Fire Company there are other organizations who need your help.
One we recognize is below.
This is the only official Chester County organization for donating to help Fire/Police/EMS in the county.
It is a qualified charity under IRC section 501(c)(3).
Many of the board members are Fire/Police/EMS.
99% of the funds raised are used to benefit of fallen first responders and/or their families!!
Ways to verify a charitable organization
While we applaud and welcome your desire to assist, PLEASE make sure that it is a valid charity that will be giving the majority of the collected funds to the stated cause. Unfortunately there are a lot of "FAKE" Charities asking for money in the name of worthy causes..
Chester County Department of Emergency Services
If you have special information that emergency personal should know
Such as residents who need assistance evacuating are hearing/speech impaired need special health concerns, dangerous materials stored on site, such as black powder, etc., etc. use this site to submit YEARLY this information
This way the appropriate personal and/or equipment can be dispatched at time of call and NOT after the first responders get there and THEN have to call for the appropriate personal and/or equipment!!!
If you don't live is Chester County you county may have a similar service. Look for your county's web site.

Brush Burning
While MOST of the townships around here do NOT have written rules for burning there are some things to consider and do!
You should check with your township BEFORE burning!
Do NOT burn after dark!
DO stay where you can see the fire!
Do NOT burn rubber, oil, plastic, etc. Only brush, leaves, etc.!
DO keep a rake nearby to push and pull burning material back into the burn pile!
Do NOT make a smoky fire that blows into your neighbors yard!
(Get the fire burning hot BEFORE you dump a lot on it. If it starts smoking, wait until it gets going again.)
DO have a charged line ready! (Make sure you have a hose ready and the water is on and nozzle working)
(It's too late to find the hose, connect it, turn it on, and get to the burn pile AFTER the fire has started to spread!)
Do NOT burn on a windy day!
(It will blow smoke into your neighbors yards AND there is a danger of it spreading!)
DO call the Chester County Fire Board, (610)933-8968, BEFORE you start and AFTER you finish burning.
(This is so the fire company {hopefully} won't be called out in full force to extinguish your fire!)
