Motorcycle vs Truck Accident 05/13/2005

  On Friday, May 13, 2005 at 15:57 Hrs Chester County Dispatch alerted Ridge Fire Co. (Station 62) and West End Ambulanceís Sub-Station (MICU 1-67) for and Auto-Accident involving a Motorcycle on Kolb Rd between Baptist Church Rd & Bethel Church Rd in East Coventry Twp. Police arrived on scene and reported a motorcycle that had hit an oncoming truck on Kolb Rd. Police also requested Fire Police to Kolb Rd and Bethel Church Rd, along with Kolb Rd and Baptist Church Rd. MICU 1-67 and Rescue 62 arrived on scene and assisted EMS and cleared the roadway of debris. Engine 62-2 and Traffic 62 responded to the scene also. MICU 1-67 transported the driver of the motorcycle to the hospital. The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet, which help to greatly reduce the severity of the operatorís injuries and possibly save the operatorís life. All 62 Units were able to clear the scene available at 16:33 Hrs.

Ridge Fire Co. also responded to a motorcycle accident on Saturday May 14, with Elverson Fire Co. (Station 32) at Rt 23 and St. Peters Rd in Warwick Twp. It was within 24Hrs of this accident. The Members of the Ridge Fire Co. ask that with the fast approaching summer and warmer weather that motorcycle operators and riders wear protective clothing and HELMETS. Also to SLOW DOWN and drive responsibly, it could save your life.
