Mock Accident - 04/19/2013

  This was a "Mock Accident" to show what goes on in the aftermath of an accident. From the actual crash to the distraught parents of a "dead" teenager! The scenario was two vehicles, one driven by a drunk teenager, crashing head on into another vehicle with teenagers. There is one "fatality" and one, so severly wounded, that she have to be medivaced out on a helicopter. This was presented to the Juniors and Seniors of OJR High School. We last did one of these 05/03/2011.

  Following the "Mock Accident" the students returned to the high school auditorium for the "Cruisin Not Boozin" assembly.Owen J. Roberts School Board of Directors President Douglas Hughes gave students a perspective of the set of events which may occur after such an accident. "Our goal is that none of you is ever involved in a preventable accident," he told students. A representative from Bryn Mawr Rehab introduced the a traumatic brain injury survivor and keynote speaker who captivated the attention of the audience with his story, "My name is Bobby. This is the dream I never woke up from. My accident occurred on March 5, 2006, the night that changed my life forever."

  The organizations that participated were Ridge Fire Company, OJR School District, OJR School Security, OJR Wellnes Council, E. Vincent Police, N. Coventry Police, PA State Police, E. Coventry Police, 329 Ambluance, Chester County Coroner, and JeffSTAT helicopter.

  It was sponsored by State Farm Insurance, Paoli Hospital & Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Cruisin’ Not Boozin’ program.

Many of these pictures have had their "Brightness" and "Contrast" adjusted to make it easier to see what is going on.

The size, maximum 600 pixels wide, and resolution has been changed on all of these pictures to speed loading and allow 2 side by side on a standard, full, screen.
