Afternoon Accident Keeps Crews Busy on July 4th On Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 1250Hrs Chester County Fire Board alerted the Ridge Fire Co. (Station 62) and Goodwill Ambulance of Pottstown (Medic 329) for an auto accident on Rt. 100 north of Rt. 23 in South Coventry Twp. Chief 62 responded immediately and was advised of one vehicle into a pole. Rescue 62 responded moments later and arrived to find a van into a pole with severe damage of the engine and passengerís compartments. The driver was out of the van and was being evaluated by EMS. Rescue personnel checked the van for any other hazards and stood by while EMS was assessing the patient. Medic 329-2 transported one by ground to Reading. Once the van was pulled free from the pole by the tow truck crews from Rescue and Engine 62-1 cleaned up the scene and went available at 1342Hrs.
Units On-Scene: Rescue 62, Engine 62-1, Squad 62, Traffic 62, Medic 329-2, 62 Fire Police, PSP Embreeville, West Vincent, and North Coventry PD.
