Auto Accident - 6/12/2009
Multiple Patients MVA on Rt. 724
On Friday, June 12, 2009, at 1205Hrs, the Chester County Fire Board alerted the Ridge Fire Co. (Station 62) and West End Ambulance Sub-Station (MICU 1-67) to the intersection of Rt. 724 and Wells Rd in East Coventry Twp. for an auto accident. Assistant 62 went responding and was advised that it was reported to be three vehicles with multiple injuries. While responding Chester received supplemental information advising that one patient was reported trapped and one vehicle was a van loaded with 5 children to be checked. At that time the assignment was upgraded to with entrapment and additional EMS units were dispatched from Goodwill Ambulance of Pottstown (Medic 329). MICU 1-67-5 arrived and confirmed no entrapment and began triaging the multiple patients. Captain 62 arrived on scene and requested Rt. 724 closed between Anderson and Linfield Rd. Norco Fire Co (Station 64) and Liberty Fire Co. (Station 63) were dispatched to assist with closing Rt. 724. Rescue 62 arrived and assisted EMS with the multiple patients. Assistant 62 assumed Rt. 724 Command and requested additional MICUs from West End Fire Co. (Station 67) to be dispatched to transport the patients in the van. At 1423Hrs all 62 Units were clear of the scene and Fire Police re-opened the roadway.
Units On-Scene: Rescue 62, MICU 1-67-5, MICU 67-1, MICU 67-2, Medic 329-4, Medic, 329-2, Traffic 63, Traffic 64, 62, 63, 64 Fire Police, East Coventry, East Vincent, and Spring City PD.
Many of these pictures have had their "Brightness" and "Contrast" adjusted to make it easier to see what is going on.
