Auto Accident January, 2nd 2009

2 Vehicle Accident on Snow Covered Rt. 23


  On January 2, 2009 at 1230Hrs the Chester County Fire Board alerted the Ridge Fire Co. (Station 62) and Elverson EMS (Station 89) to westbound Rt. 23 west of Mt. Pleasant Rd in Warwick Twp. for an auto accident. A prolonged snow shower had covered the area roads, causing slippery conditions for drivers. Assistant 62 was advised that there were 2 vehicles blocking the road with one patient to be checked. The Engine and Squad responded with the Rescue and assisted EMS in getting one patient packed up and loaded for transport. Fire police had shut the road down while crews were operating on scene between Mt. Pleasant Rd and Old Ridge Rd. Ambulance 89-1 transported one patient to PMMC. All 62 units were clear of the scene at 1321Hrs.

  Units Responding/On Scene: Rescue 62, Engine 62-2, Squad 62, Ambulance 89-1, 62 Fire Police, and PSP Embreeville.
