Auto Accident 12/07/2004 - Car versus Tree

It was a dark and stormy night, the road was wet and slick, SLOW DOWN!!


  On Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at 02:00 hours Chester County Dispatch alerted Elverson Fire & Ambulance (Station 32), Ridge Fire Co. (Station 62) for Rescue 62, and Medic 93 for an Auto Accident with Entrapment on Rt 23 in the Area of Park's Auto Repair in Warwick Township. Roads were damp and heavy fog covered the area when the call came in. Ambulance 32 arrived on scene with a vehicle through a tree with one occupant heavily entrapped. Engine 32-1 arrived on scene and began clearing the debris from the area to allow rescue personnel to extricate the patient. Due to the weather conditions all Medical Helicopters were grounded. Rescue 62 and Squad 62 arrived on scene and began extricating the patient. Once the patient was extricated Ambulance 32 and Medic 93 transported the patient by ground to Leigh Valley Hospital. Rescue 62 also illuminated the scene for State Police to conduct their investigation. Traffic 62 assisted 32 fire police with traffic control during the incident. 62 units were able to clear by 04:38 hours.
